Enclosed in a folding “book” (nicely finished with a bone closure and covered in the traditional color of the Chinese monarchy, royal blue), the Book of Good Fortune Chinese Calligraphy Set is a great gift idea.
This set Includes a brocade-covered, accordion-fold book for calligraphic exploration, two brushes (with brush rest), a water pot and ladle, an “ink stick” (this is rubbed against the ink stone - the resulting concentrated powder is then mixed with drops of water to make the ink), ink stone; a carved stone seal, and a porcelain jar of red seal paste. The seal is of the Chinese character Fu, which means good fortune.
Handmade in China in the master tradition since 200 A.D. this 14 Piece Traditional Calligraphy Set includes:

The 36 page handmade book measures 3.375 x 3.25 x .5 inches when closed and has a maximum expandable length of 44 inches. Inside, the front two pages are speckled with gold -- a nice touch! Outside, a rice paper gold speckled label adorns the book cover for your embellishment.

- Red ink within a porcelain dish bearing an elaborate blue glazed dragon on the lid for pressing the "chop" (seal) into.
- A porcelain water bowl and fitted spoon.
- All within a 7.9 x 5 x 1.9 inch royal blue silk fabric handmade box. The box has four hinges that when opened allow the box to convert into a 17.4 x 7.75 inch work surface.
